Flash is a method of adding interactive animation to sites. However, sites which use too much Flash are often difficult to use, and are not search engine-friendly. Egghead Design uses Flash sparingly, to enhance a site.
The Great Flash Debate
Flash executed well can really add value to a site. It can do things that "normal" (XHTML to the initiated) web sites just cannot achieve. However, there is a huge debate raging in the web design community at the moment: many people build Flash-only sites that look visually compelling, but they are often difficult and unintuitive to use, and cannot be easily found via Google. They often take a long time to load. Also, they are not accessible.
Our Approach
Egghead Design uses Flash sparingly, just to enhance our designs. Whenever we use Flash, we make sure that the site is search engine friendly, accessible and useable.
