Viral Marketing
Viral marketing - there is no more powerful marketing method than plain old Word Of Mouth (where a person recommends you to another), and viral marketing is about finding ways to create and use this. Egghead can help you create that buzz.
Our Approach
We have several methods that can be applied:
- Blogs - a great way of communicating with people on a more intimate and personal level (our founder has one all about web design and programming). A blog can be syndicated which means that it can be promoted within the blogosphere
- RSS - This is a way of informing your customers whenever something changes on your website. For example, if you have a news section, people only see new items when they log onto your site. However, if the subscribe to your RSS feed, then they get told about it without having to visit your site.
- Forums - ethical forum marketing can be appropriate in some markets. This is about using online forums to communicate with people who use your products. It's a great way of getting feedback about what you sell as well!
Using some or all of these techniques will increase traffic to your site. They are not always appropriate for every site and they require a certain amount of effort from you, but used responsibly and correctly, the difference can be dramatic. Hotmail is a very successful brand built pretty well just by viral marketing (0 to 30 millions members in 30 months!)
